About Me I am a 42 year old newly married woman in love with the most wonderful man I could have ever hoped to meet. Between us we have three terrific kids - all boys!! 2 are 16 years old and one is 13. We live in Northeast Ohio and someday hope to move to Kentucky - maybe when we win the lottery! So far, though the only lottery we seem to win is the laundry lottery, and I gotta tell ya, we're not gettin' far on pennies and nickels!!

Music I listen to everything from Bluegrass and country to Hip Hop and Rap, New Age, classical, the Oldies....you name it, we listen to it!!

Movies Is there really anything but harry Potter?

TV The Sopranos, 24, American Idol, NCIS, CSI (Las Vegas of course!), My Name is Earl, The Office, Law & Order....I watch way to much TV!!

Books James Patterson, Tom Clancy, Clive Cussler, JK Rowling, any good book ... well-recommended by a friend!

Likes Warm summer rain, the first daffodils of spring, newborn babies, holding hands, sleeping beside the man I love

Dislikes People who think it's all about them, my job somedays, being a parent to my elderly mother who was a strong woman at one time

Hobbies cooking! not that I can eat anything!

Vices procrastination and being organizationally challenge...where did I leave my cell phone this time?!?!

Virtues I never claimed to be virtuous!

Heroes My dad, who passed 16 years ago.

this happened just about the time we got to the restaurant for the reception...it was only about 2 miles away at the local ball fields!!

and it has been a while since I updated anything...

Just got married June 28, 2008...it was a lovely small ceremony in the local park, family friends....a small tornado...but hey! that's my life!!

A=Gathering We will Go

The menu is planned, the shopping list is prepared, checklist is ready so nothing is left behind....now all I have to do is .... WAIT!! *groan, grumble, mutter* One more month. Just one more month. It seems like forever and a day ago we earnestly began talking about another Gathering, and now the time is upon us!!

I can't wait to see my "family" again!!

Before I Was a Mom

From Rob's mom to him, right before mother's day...but so true for all of us who are moms!

Before I was a Mom
I never tripped over toys or forgot words to a lullaby.
I didn't worry whether or not my plants were poisonous.
I never thought about immunizations.
Before I was a Mom - I had never been puked on.
Pooped on.
Chewed on.
Peed on.
I had complete control of my mind and my thoughts.
I slept all night.
Before I was a Mom
I never held down a screaming child so doctors could do tests.
Or give shots.
I never looked into teary eyes and cried.
I never got gloriously happy over a simple grin.
I never sat up late hours at night watching a baby sleep.
Before I was a Mom
I never held a sleeping baby just because I didn't want to
put them down.
I never felt my heart break into a million pieces when I
couldn't stop the hurt..
I never knew that something so small could affect my life so
much.
I never knew that I could love someone so much.
I never knew I would love being a Mom.
Before I was a Mom -
I didn't know the feeling of having my heart outside my body.
I didn't know how special it could feel to feed a hungry baby.
I didn't know that bond between a mother and her child.
I didn't know that something so small could make me feel so
important and happy.
Before I was a Mom -
I had never gotten up in the middle of the night every
10 minutes to make sure all was okay.
I had never known the warmth, the joy, the love, the heartache,
the wonderment or the satisfaction of being a Mom.
I didn't know I was capable of feeling so much, before I was a
Mom.
